Purpose:

Seeking seasoned financial professional able to provide targeted strategic insights across all functions of the business.  Capable of analyzing operational performance, industry dynamics, macro-economic trends and the competitive landscape to improve strategic and tactical decision-making. Inspirational leader who will be a key part of the site leadership team to establish the vision of the business unit and to mentor and assist peers in developing their financial acumen. The site is a leading manufacturer of heat transfer related assemblies and other high temperature sheet metal components for aerospace, in commercial, defense and general aviation applications. 
Essential Functions:
  • Supervises and assists department associates to ensure accounting duties are accurately and promptly completed.
  • Trains associates on best practice methods.
  • Provides leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication.  Monitors results, implements corrective actions if needed.
  • Participates in performance evaluation process of direct reports.
  • Creates effective financial and management reporting and analysis
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.           
  • Ensure accurate and current costing of inventory
  • Stays informed of developments in accounting and of changing governmental and legal requirements.
  • Develops annual and five year operating and financial plans in conjunction with the management team.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Oversees the preparation of regulatory and governmental reports as required. 
  • Ensures that accounting functions are completed in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Create and monitor effective internal controls to ensure the protection of corporate assets and accurate financial reporting
  • Ensures business operational processes are stable, efficient and accurate.
  • Performs all other duties as required. 
 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent (master’s degree or CPA preferred)
  • 6+ years of previous experience in a Controller or Accounting Manager role
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting practices
  • Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems (MS Microsoft AX/Dynamics strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with supply chain management and/or procurement in a manufacturing or plant setting is preferred
  • Prior Aerospace, FAA, PMA experience is preferred.
