Senior Director, Digital Strategy & Activation Lead

Oversees the development of digital strategies for the assigned Pharma Franchise that engages and activates patients, HCPS and all stakeholders that changes customer behavior and creates brand affinity. Oversee development, coordination and monitoring of integrated digital strategy plans in support of ongoing multi-year strategic plans and priorities. Work with brand team members to maintain the highest levels of quality, customer service, and collaboration in developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive outcomes-based digital plans (including advertising, media buying, agency management and selection, digital media, and outcomes reporting). Recommends and prioritizes an appropriate mix of digital communications strategies as well as designs and executes data-driven digital campaigns that align to brand strategies and the overall Bayer digital and IMCM strategies and approach.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Director, Digital Strategy & Activation Lead, are to:
  • Assesses external digital opportunities and threats as key inputs to making the best decisions on business strategy given digital realities;
  • Ensure smooth operation for all digital tools and applications (eg website, blogs and social media);
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of Marketing & Digital Strategy, including all budget-related, project management oversight, and other issues. Assess challenges and opportunities and/or organizational dynamics and proactively employ appropriate actions to quickly resolve problems and ensure projects/objectives are achieved;
  • Evaluates and recommends new optimization methods to improve customer experience;
  • Generate innovative ideas to increase web traffic and ensures best web practices are being met;
  • Work with marketing leadership to ensure digital strategies accomplish marketing objectives;
  • Works with IT to manage user experience across platforms, assisting with problem resolution;
  • Acts as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain digital capabilities;
  • Acts as a thought leader on emerging digital business models and technologies, articulating the opportunities internally and externally;
  • Secures access and delivering profitable outcomes;
  • Fosters productive relationships with key senior customer decision makers;
  • Meets departmental and brand expectations inclusive of stretch goals through appropriate resource management, and strategic innovative thinking;
  • Drives innovation through novel and best in class approaches;
  • Understands the long term impact based on market dynamics now and in the future, and facilitates strategy, and plans implementation to produce long term profitable access, while meeting short term key brand performance metrics;
  • Supports value proposition creation for customers, by identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities for success;
  • The primary location for this role is Whippany, NJ. Relocation may be offered for this role.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree;
  • Minimum of 10 years of Marketing experience with 5 years of digital specific experience;
  • Experience working in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Consumer Health industries (or other industry that is similarly regulated), or experience with a Marketing/Media Agency partnerning with Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Consumer Health clients;
  • Experience in customer engagement strategies;
  • In-depth experience with integrated marketing and communications programs including strategic development, creative development, analysis and implementation;
  • Solid expertise with online marketing tools and web-based technologies;
  • In-depth knowledge of how digital channels work;
  • Strong analytical skills;


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA Degree.
