Who we need
The Production Director, Creative & Marketing Innovation directs strategies for client and internal marketing initiatives, focusing on innovative solutions and vendor management to optimize project management and creative outcomes. Leading a team of creatives, this role ensures execution from inception to completion, maintaining high standards of creativity, efficiency, and client satisfaction. By championing new ideas, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the agency is modern, cost-effective, and revenue-generating, the Production Director drives sales and marketing innovation, enhancing both client relationships and company growth.
The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Creative
- Manage a team of Designers, Copywriters and Production across all creative projects and tasks from conception to completion, including setting and meeting milestones and timelines.
- Implement creative strategies and deliver best-in-class marketing assets (creative, video and imagery) for product, technology solutions, and services.
- Lead the team by fostering a positive and productive environment, including brainstorming, individual goal setting, project tracking, and staff training where necessary.
- Ensure projects are trafficked and delivered on-time for all production of advertising including, but not limited to, magazines, newspapers, TV spots, print jobs, social, out-of-home, digital assets.
- Implement the creative strategy and own production and marketing discipline by leading a team of creative experts in a studio environment across multiple domains: creative services/design, photo/video production.
- Responsible for the continuing education and intellectual curiosity of the creative team so the quality of the work is continuously improving.
- Create and maintain processes for the creative team to ensure communications and deliverables are streamlined and organized via project management system Wrike.
Vendor Management and Diversity
- Manage and expand key vendor relationships, negotiating fees for radio and video production and any work outsourced to production houses outside the core internal team.
- Ensure a diverse set of providers and maintain relationships with production vendors to enhance multicultural messaging and inclusion in creative projects.
- Ensure multi-lingual assets are accurate, free of errors, and in the right dialect.
- Conduct regular evaluations of vendor partners to ensure best-in-class service and cost efficiency, at least annually.
- Monitor production budgets to ensure alignment with overall campaign budgets, inclusive of labor hours, imagery, and footage.
Project Management
- Act as Project Manager for agency initiatives as needed (examples: new platform onboardings, data fabric advancement).
- Vet vendor partners across departments on a regular cadence (at least yearly) to ensure best-in-class service and continue to reduce out-of-pocket costs for MSI & clients.
- Manage freelance/contract worker relationships for specialized and specific project needs as they arise.
- Maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams throughout the company, promoting collaboration and alignment to project expectations.
- Collaborate on advancing the creative and project management toolbox, finding efficiencies and opportunities through new platforms/tools, processes, and leveraging research AI to drive ideation and iteration.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 3-5 years of agency Creative experience
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Results driven with a high sense of urgency; strong project management skills
- Possess high levels of initiative, innovation and can manage multiple priorities and projects effectively
- Inclination to think outside of the box to imagine new ideas and encourage progressive dialogue

- Ability to recognize a great idea and empower the creative teams to push the boundaries on the work we make, while providing the business context needed for the work to be successful
