Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated Tax Accountant to join our Corporate Tax department. This is a great opportunity to work with a team and continue to grow your skills and career. This department is responsible for tax research and planning, income tax, transaction tax (sales & use, VAT, GST) property tax, and tax incentives. The successful candidate's initial assignment will be to the transaction tax group and will need to be a highly motivated individual with the ability to build relationships quickly and naturally. These relationships will bring this candidate the credibility needed to operate as a successful business partner within the Kiewit Companies.

Responsibilities

Preparation of transactional tax returns (state, local, and international) Analysis of tax payable accounts Completion of assigned projects Monitor tax legislation Assist with tax audits Research and analysis of tax issues

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent Zero to three years of accounting experience Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Proven technical abilities Ability to conduct research Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and research software) Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented Willing and able to put in the time required to meet deadlines Able to work independently, and as part of a team Some travel may be required

Regular, reliable attendance Work productively and meet deadlines timely Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
