Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will engage in a diverse range of tasks including research, bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, and tax-related assignments, along with other consulting responsibilities. Your performance will be evaluated based on your proficiency and effectiveness in executing tasks, the quality of your work, your application of accounting knowledge, and your ability to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Organizing and managing your daily schedule while adapting to project urgency.
  2. Possessing a thorough understanding of tax regulations, accounting principles, and research methodologies.
  3. Making informed decisions and knowing when to seek assistance.
  4. Providing recommendations for addressing specific identified challenges.
  5. Conducting various engagements under the supervision of a manager or partner.
  6. Enhancing task management skills through planning or assisting in planning engagements.
  7. Collaborating effectively within a team environment and promoting open communication.
  8. Taking responsibility for your work and overseeing the work of junior staff.
  9. Delegating tasks to associates and ensuring their successful completion.

Required Skills:

  • Conducting research and analysis on complex tax issues using firm resources.
  • Preparing advanced tax returns with minimal review comments.
  • Reviewing tax returns prepared by staff with no further comments required.
  • Managing correspondence with IRS and state agencies regarding tax notices.
  • Creating tax projections with few review comments.
  • Proposing tax planning strategies to management.
  • Staying updated on current tax regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in bookkeeping and business tax preparation is advantageous.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
