Role Responsibilities:

As an Associate Accountant, you will engage in a diverse range of tasks including research, bookkeeping, auditing, accounting, and tax-related assignments, along with various consulting activities. Your performance will be evaluated based on your proficiency and effectiveness in completing tasks, which includes the quality of your work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to adhere to deadlines.

Key Duties:

  1. Organize and manage your daily schedule, prioritizing tasks based on project urgency.
  2. Gain a solid understanding of tax regulations, accounting principles, and research techniques.
  3. Enhance your skills in using business technology and equipment to improve your performance.
  4. Develop thorough documentation practices using the firm's established templates.
  5. Familiarize yourself with the firm's tax procedures and protocols.
  6. Collaborate effectively within a team, fostering open communication.
  7. Conduct self-assessments of your work to ensure quality.
  8. Take responsibility for assigned tasks and client engagements.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in essential business software, including:
    • Basic: Excel, Word, Database Management, and Project Management tools.
    • Advanced: Specialized accounting and auditing software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to identify and discuss potential issues during engagements.
  • Collaborate directly with colleagues, managers, and partners.
  • Complete assignments efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline is required. Previous experience in bookkeeping and business tax preparation is advantageous. Candidates should be prepared to take and pass the CPA examination.
