Loyola University Maryland (Loyola) seeks a strategic, transformational, and people-centered leader to serve as its Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) and Associate Vice President for Human Resources.

The Chief People & Culture Officer will have an exciting opportunity to provide strategic institutional and thought leadership and cultivate a culture of care, engagement, and professional development at Loyola. A member of the President’s Cabinet, the CPCO will develop a long-term strategy for talent and organizational development and strengthen HR technology and infrastructure while ensuring the well-being and success of Loyola’s exceptional workforce and championing an institutional commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, the CPCO will join Loyola at an exciting moment in its history. Under the leadership of recently inaugurated President Terrence M. Sawyer, the University community is actively engaged in a strategic planning process that will inform the pursuit of Loyola’s vision to be a pre-eminent comprehensive university with a foundation in the liberal arts, defining its place among leading higher education institutions and its role as an anchor institution in the City of Baltimore.

The ideal candidate will have a record of successfully managing change, strengthening institutional culture, and improving operational effectiveness, and possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to align the University’s human resources processes, policies, and programs with Loyola’s strategic goals and priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. A minimum of eight years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  3. An advanced degree, HR certification, and/or prior experience in higher education administration are preferred.
