In this position, you will performing key program implementation of the FEMA GIS initiatives and operations. Typical assignments include:

Performing activities in support of the NWC, involving the agency's programs, including providing key project assistance in the development of program standards, doctrine, training, exercised, FEMA Qualification System (FQS) requirement, and program awareness throughout the agency.
Serving as a key resource on highly critical and complex geospatial program initiatives, with this role requiring frequent coordination with internal and external working groups, and incorporating a wide range of stakeholder concerns in formulating and recommending solutions to problems that have agency-wide implications and may also impact GIS capabilities across departments and agencies
Determining and managing customer expectations for products

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
