Job Description

Simply Pure Trenton, a leading name in the cannabis industry, is opening its doors soon and expanding its team. The Cannabis Advisor/Dispensary Associate (Part - Time) plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers in a cannabis dispensary. This position involves educating customers on various cannabis products, maintaining inventory levels, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Awareness and Ownership is key

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

- Greet and welcome customers, providing a friendly and informative experience.

- Listen to customer needs and recommend appropriate cannabis products based on their preferences and desired effects.

- Educate customers on different strains, potency levels, consumption methods, and responsible cannabis use.

- Answer customer questions and provide accurate information about product availability, pricing, and legal restrictions.

2. Sales and Product Knowledge:

- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the dispensary's product offerings, including cannabis strains, concentrates, edibles, and accessories.

- Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and changes in regulations.

- Make product recommendations based on customer preferences, desired effects, and experience levels.

- Upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.

3. Inventory Management:

- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and conducting inventory counts.

- Ensure accurate product labeling, pricing, and packaging.

- Monitor product expiration dates and manage product rotation to maintain product quality and freshness.

- Collaborate with the inventory team to identify and report inventory discrepancies or shortages.

4. Point of Sale Operations:

- Operate the dispensary's point of sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Handle cash transactions, maintain cash register accuracy, and adhere to cash handling procedures.

- Verify customer identification and ensure compliance with age restrictions and legal requirements.

- Maintain confidentiality and follow security protocols to safeguard customer and business information.

5. Compliance and Legal Requirements:

- Adhere to all state and local laws and regulations governing the sale and distribution of cannabis products.

- Verify customer identification and maintain appropriate records and documentation.

- Follow proper procedures for product handling, storage, and security.

- Stay updated on changes in cannabis regulations and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.

6. Store Maintenance and Cleanliness:

- Ensure the dispensary is clean, organized, and presentable at all times.

- Assist with store maintenance tasks, including restocking supplies, cleaning display cases, and maintaining a professional appearance of the sales floor.

- Collaborate with the team to implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance the customer experience.

Salary

$18 - $18 USD per hour

Required Skills

Qualifications and Skills:

  • - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in cannabis studies is a plus.
  • - Previous experience in a customer service or retail role is preferred (1 year minimum).
  • - Passion for cannabis and a strong knowledge of different strains, consumption methods, and effects.
  • - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • - Ability to provide exceptional customer service and build rapport with customers.
  • Minimum 21 years of age (or as required by state regulations)
  • A minimum of a High School diploma is required
  • Intermediate-level math skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to solve and resolve problems in a calm, professional, and courteous manner
  • Strong computer-based skills
  • Dynamic interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Personal experience with cannabis

Desired Skills

  • Expierence with 'Dutchie' software and platform
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish
  • Proven expertise and experience to accurately manage a register
  • Experience as a key holder in a retail environment
  • Knowledge of the state s cannabis regulations
