Global Technical Sales Intern

Team and Role 

The Global Technical Sales team is responsible for providing technology and thought leadership to our customers. This team support strategic sales engagements, drives technology adoption, and supports the global digital platform strategy of Equinix. Our interns will be offered the opportunity to shadow GTS leadership and practitioners in their daily role in key initiatives, strategic sales engagements, development of offers, repeatable solutions, and use cases as well as be given guided responsibility for the completion of a specific business required project.  We aim to recruit individuals who can develop and deploy AI pipelines and software packages to create innovative AI solutions in collaboration with our partners. Successful interns will have the opportunity to transition into full-time roles within our SVC team or as part of our AI SME team. We are committed to training and incorporating interns into customer-facing roles.

Interns will be tasked with consolidating GTST information spread across various formats (Wikis, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and Word Documents) into a private instance of the Equinix ACE GenAI platform. The goal is to enhance data accessibility and accuracy using the Retrieval Augmentation Generation (RAG) approach. A hybrid setup is envisioned, where the data sources are maintained at Equinix while the AI model operates in the cloud.

Assignments and Responsibilities: 

Supporting the coordination of: 

  • AI Integration and Deployment: Assist in the deployment of AI pipelines and the creation of AI solutions.

  • Project Leadership: Manage a significant business-related project that requires the use of advanced AI technologies in real-world applications.

  • Delivery of a validated technical solution highlighting Equinix portfolio 

  • Research papers on emerging technologies with suggestions for Equinix involvement 

  • Implementation guides, instruction videos, and white papers 

  • Research on a technology partner.

Who You Are (Requirements and Qualifications):â¯Â 

  • Must be currently enrolled inâ¯an accreditedâ¯university/college, in your penultimate year of your masterâs degreeâ¯studiesâ¯(Graduationâ¯between December 2024 - September 2025). 

  • Experience with database technologies

  • Practical skills in AI pipeline deployment and solution development.

  • Programming proficiency in Java or Python.

  • Familiarity with cloud services such as EC2, S3, and other database services.

  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Available to work full-timeâ¯for the entire duration of the Summer Internshipâ¯Programâ¯(betweenâ¯May - August, depending on your school system)â¯.â¯â¯Â 

  • Ability to multi-task and workâ¯collaboratively andâ¯effectively in aâ¯fast-pacedâ¯environment.â¯â¯Â 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business proficiency in Englishâ¯

  • Ability to create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, and share information and ideas with others.â¯â¯Â 

  • Analytically driven and detail-oriented, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package and aptitude to learn new tools.  

  • Good attitude and willingness to learn  

  • High interest in Cloud Computing, Information Technology 

  • MSFT/AWS/Google certifications will be a plus 

  • Information Security - knowledge of networks, routing, applications, development
