This position is located in the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO), Protected Resources Division (PRD), with one vacancy in Honolulu, HI. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Resource Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Implement conservation and recovery of protected species plans, reduce harmful human-wildlife interactions, coordinate field responses and management interventions, conduct outreach and education activities and events, and foster community engagement and partnerships. Serve as the Marine Wildlife Response Coordinator by supporting the implementation of Endangered Species Act (ESA) and Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), managing on-shore and vessel-based incident responses to marine mammal and sea turtle stranding's, entanglements, and injuries and endangered species haul-outs and pupping events, and conducting permit compliance, document reporting, marine wildlife assessments, and field research and monitoring activities. Collect, synthesize, evaluate, and present scientific data to develop and implement plans and actions related to listings, consultation, permits, recovery planning, and delisting related to regulatory mandates of the ESA. Recruit, train, and manage marine wildlife response network members, coordinate issuance of MMPA stranding agreements and collaboration with MMPA stranding agreement holders, and ensure program compliance with policies and procedures.
