Duties

You will:
Spearhead and manage OLEM's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) efforts and manage the implementation of Presidential Executive Orders, and related EPA Agency policies appropriately. Participate on taskforces, workgroups, etc.; serve as an OLEM point of contact; and provide coordination with senior staff in various OLEM offices and the Agency, Regional offices, other government agencies, key stakeholders and the private sector for the preparation and assimilation of general or technical information.

This position is designated as High Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as experience developing, implementing and recommending diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility policies, procedures and guidance.

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of DEIA, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), human resource, administrative, environmental protection principles, and procedures. Skill in developing and modifying plans to implement diversity goals and objectives. Skill in written communication in order to persuasively convey program needs to high level managers for decisions. Skill in oral communication in order to persuasively convey program needs to high level managers for decisions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
