Essential Responsibilities & Tasks:
* Assist veterinarians and medical team to complete the task of the day.
* Communicate with colleagues and clients to maintain flow of all patients.
* Assist in surgery as directed.
* Utilize technical skills to the fullest as VMB policy and practice acts state.
* Ensure safety of pets, clients, and fellow employees by using safe restraining techniques.
* Follow all hospital protocols.
* Maintaining a clean and organized treatment area, exam rooms, laboratory, pharmacy, and surgery room.
* Obtaining information and pet history from clients.
* Maintain proper and complete medical charts, records, and inventory.
* Educate clients about medical plans, post-surgical instruction, health needs and prevention, hospital services, and other subjects such as authorized by the veterinarian.
* Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional services at all times.
* Completing preparatory work for procedures including, but limited to computer entry, and client communication.
* Ensure patients are comfortable in hospital, monitoring hospitalized and surgical pets at all times.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Current Registered Veterinary Technician
* A minimum of 3 years of Veterinary Assistant OR R.V.T. experience required
* Proficient in animal restraint, x-ray positioning, patient assessment, administering medications, sterile blood collection, sterile urine collection, IV placement, surgical assistance, anesthesia monitoring, pain assessment, pain management, dental prophylaxis, emergency triage, CPR, first aid, and critical patient monitoring.
* Ability to multitask
* Ability to read fecal flotations
* Ability to communicate
