The Endoscopy Technician 2 provides technical support to physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting with various GI procedures, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and accessory equipment, as well as basic troubleshooting. The technician will also perform unit secretarial and clerical tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse as needed. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and safe patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Clean and disinfect endoscopes and accessory equipment
• Perform basic troubleshooting of endoscopic equipment
• Provide technical support to physicians during procedures
• Assist with unit secretarial and clerical tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of GI experience performing complex procedures, such as Endoscopic Ultrasound, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Band Ligation (BL), Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), and GI bleeds in an intensive care setting
• Ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality
• Proficiency in using computer software programs necessary for the position
• Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work calmly and respond courteously under pressure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
