YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE

We are looking for a Accounts Payable Manager in 401 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1400, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Your mission will be to:

Responsible for ensuring invoice payments are processed timely and accurately.
* Responsible for overseeing key functions like timely execution of Pcard payments & Concur expense reporting.
* Managing relations with other support groups such as purchasing, laboratories and corporate functions.
* Leads the design, development and implementation of streamlined processes, best practices and internal controls for the Accounts Payable
function. Continue automation of Vendor invoice processing and payments.
* Responsible for initiating payment runs. Assuring payments are processes and keeping up with open bank reconciliation items that may surface
throughout the month.
* Responsible for 1099 management and preparation.
* Team is currently undergoing significant technology transformation and therefore change management is key. Work to onboard a team into a new
tool for enterprise content management and assure technology is being used effectively.
* Key point of contact during year end, interim and internal audits relates to Accounts Payables matters.
* Manages assigned personnel as it relates to all projects or related work, establishes performance requirements, clarifies responsibilities of those
supervised, conducts performance appraisals and plans for individual employee development.
* Creates operational and functional objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to the team. Develops and monitors metrics, reporting
and the performance of the Accounts Payable team.
* Ensures that all Accounts Payable general ledger accounts are reconciled, maintained in a current status, and properly reviewed and approved.
* Leading other projects may be necessary affecting the accounts payable function.
* Perform other duties as needed.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 10+ years of accounts payable experience

  • Advanced written and verbal skills

  • Strong background in Microsoft Office - Highly proficient in Excel

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economic.

  • Must be extremely detail oriented

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate across many organizational levels

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask required

  • Must possess a high energy and sense of urgency

  • Teamwork

  • Basic JDE knowledge preferred. Intellichief knowledge preferred.


Required skills: Computer skills are necessary for generating reports, organizing and managing workload. Good supervisory skills are necessary to manage the work and performance of staff. Strong communication skills are required to effectively work with staff; internal and external clients; and, our foreign affiliates. Good analytical skills are necessary to quickly identify problems and determine the best course of action.


Management: Responsible for a team of 8 individuals located in Chicago.


Work Environment: The position primarily works in an office environment. Hybrid Work: 3 days in office/2 days remote. Physical dexterity is necessary to effectively manipulate a keyboard. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a sitting position. Periodically, the position may lift up to 50 lbs.
