Salary:  up to $110,000 per year + PAID RELOCATION We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Plant Engineer to join our client's team at a local power plant. This role is crucial in ensuring the optimal performance of our plant's fuel systems. The successful candidate will take on responsibilities that include mastering all aspects of fuel and plant performance, serving as the primary technical contact for both plant and mine personnel, and providing critical recommendations on fuel quality and equipment performance. This position requires continuous monitoring of fuel quality, strategic planning for fuel extraction and delivery, and participation in studies to enhance boiler performance. Additionally, this individual will manage various projects, provide day-to-day operational guidance, and offer technical expertise in resolving operational issues. Responsibilities:

    • Begin mastering all aspects related to fuel and the plant's performance.
    • Serve as the main contact for plant and mine personnel, offering technical support on fuel and plant performance issues.
    • Provide recommendations to plant and mine staff regarding:
        • Adjustments and performance of fuel handling equipment
        • Data on fuel quality and chemical composition
        • Strategic planning for fuel extraction and delivery schedules
        • Long-term planning for boiler cleanliness and performance
        • Scheduling machine repairs and overhauls
    • Continuously monitor and respond to changes in fuel quality and chemical composition.
    • Maintain open communication and a close working relationship with  personnel.
    • Participate in studies on boiler performance and fuel quality/chemical composition.
    • Assist in evaluating and testing equipment.
    • Review systems to enhance efficiency, reliability, availability, load factor, interval between wash outages, fuel consumption, and combustion performance.
    • Identify areas for improvement that reduce the total cost of ownership.
    • Hold plant and mine personnel accountable for actions impacting plant performance.
    • Track and document relevant material and machinery histories to fulfill the described duties.
    • Consider and recommend alternative fuel sources or types, including studies on logistics and financial impacts.
    • Project management/Project budgeting
    • Acquisition of labor and material resources through the procurement process
    • Contractor management
    • Construction planning, coordination, inspection, and quality control
    • Startup and testing
    • Prepare and conduct project training for operations and maintenance
    • Complete the project records
    • Complete project closeout
    • Ensure coordination of efforts between different departments, organizations and vendors
    • Provide day-to-day guidance to operations and maintenance personnel
    • Provide technical expertise in areas causing problems to operations
    • Provide assistance under emergency conditions for repair of vital equipment
    • Maintain all qualifications necessary to traverse the haul road between the mine and plant
  Qualifications: 
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (from an ABET accredited university)
  • EIT certification is preferred
  • Entry Level Role / No Management experience required
  • Related working experience is highly preferred, but not necessary.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Occasional Travel may be required
  • No Visa candidates are able to be considered
