Provide technical guidance for developing, testing, evaluating, researching, operating, maintaining, remodeling, and decommissioning new aerospace engineering technologies for testing and implementation into balloon and payload systems.
Manage multiple functions, which may include: planning, research, design, development, test and evaluation, cost analyses, program and project management. Oversee contracted work either externally or on-site in the facility of the contractor.
Collaborate with contract aerospace engineers to incorporate new technologies, improve reliability, extend the life of an aerospace vehicle, or reduce total ownership costs. Coordinate in-field assessments of technology efforts.
Analyze, test, evaluate, validate, and certify flight hardware, software, and system capabilities, ensuring compliance with design and operational safety requirements.
Prepare and present balloon technology efforts to NASA teams and committees.
Provide technical guidance in support of Small Business Innovation and Research activities.
Manage current implemented technology programs to ensure effectiveness. Manage cost, schedule, and technical aspects including risk management of the project/program.
Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence and innovation. Champion NASA's commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility to create an environment that promotes a commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork.
