What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as a Senior Historic Preservation Specialist. Typical assignments include:

Completing non-disaster and disaster program historic preservation compliance reviews.
Providing environmental and historic preservation (EHP) policy and project compliance support to FEMA's programs and operations.
Provide regional input for EHP's initial process mapping for operational efficiencies, standard operating procedure (SOP) development, and develop process improvements across non-disaster and disaster related programs
Collaborating with FEMA headquarters program staff, regional staff, and field staff.
Managing highly complex projects with short- and long-term objectives and facilitating often unprecedented resolutions with multiple stakeholders.
Reviewing, drafting, or finalizing agreement documents, standard operating procedures, policy, guidance, resources, or tools, especially those related to streamlining EHP compliance reviews.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
