Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Specialist to join our team at the Federal Aviation Administration. As an EOSH Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for our employees and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a range of duties aimed at ensuring safe and healthy working conditions, including conducting workplace inspections and developing abatement plans.
  • Develop and manage EOSH teams, programs, and projects, and conduct audits to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identify safety hazards and recommend measures to address them, and provide guidance to lower-level staff on how to solve difficult technical issues.
  • Represent the FAA as a senior technical point of contact on projects, programs, and other areas of FAA responsibility, and communicate results to all levels internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with FAA personnel to develop programs, projects, and policies to resolve issues and eliminate or reduce risk to employees.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • One year probationary period may be required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience includes experience with OSH workplace inspections and development of abatement plans, experience in developing and managing EOSH teams, programs, and projects, and conducting audits.

Well-qualified applicants must possess and document experience developing and managing EOSH programs that comply with local, state, and/or federal requirements.
