Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a E3 Senior Staff Systems Engineer for the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division Engineering and Manufacturing team. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
The selected candidate will be expected to lead efforts within the E3 team in the areas of EMI/EMC design, compliance, and analysis. The E3 Design Support Lead will be able to develop and apply advanced technical principles, techniques, and concepts regarding EMI/EMC to designs and produce findings and document recommendations.
As a Lead position for the Sentinel program for E3, the selected candidate will also be responsible for leading the design support team of E3 engineers to ensure quality and technical execution of E3 design products. In this role the lead will provide oversight, training, and mentorship for junior to mid-level E3 engineers.
Ensure systems and equipment meets MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464 and other compliance requirements.
Share extensive knowledge in the design and implementation of EMI/EMC controls, to include transient suppression, filter design, circuit board and flextape layout, cable shield design, equipment housing design and system grounding principles.
Lead system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements.
Oversee/Lead and Support system technical performance measurement definition and tracking.
Experience: 14+ years of related work experience with BS. 12+ years of related work experience with Master’s degree, 9 years of related work experience with a PhD.
Experience with E3 CDRLs including EMI/EMC control plans, E3 Integration and Analysis Reports, and E3 Verification Procedures and Reports.
Experience conducting EMI design reviews, providing design support/analysis for EMI critical design features to design teams
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or other relevant STEM degree.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Active DoD Secret Clearance.
~ Prior experience performing EMI/EMC design work on fixed ground installations.
~ Experience in modeling of EM effects and use of EM effects simulation tools such as Spice, MATLAB, ANSYS HFSS/EMA3D/Maxwell, CST, or other codes.
