This role is responsible for the oversight of jobs and projects in the Permian Basin to ensure they have the required resources, manpower and skills to successfully complete projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of measurement, instrumentation, automation, and communication equipment activities, with a secondary focus on low-voltage electrical and wiring work. Should be knowledgeable in a variety of control system platforms and control system designs. It will emphasize the maintenance of maximum Health, Safety, and Environment (EH&S) standards and operational efficiency. The Automation Manager will also implement company policies, procedures, and guidelines on field operations.

  • Automation Manager Responsibilities*
  • Supervise 20+ service personnel and contractors to ensure all work conforms to safety, quality, and highest value requirements in accordance with customer and company programs.
  • Monitor the costs, productivity, and scheduling associated with the Automation department, overseeing project expenses to ensure all budget requirements are met
  • Maximize manpower while utilizing the skills, material and other resources to ensure efficiencies are met and exceeded
  • Improve operational management systems
  • Maintain and develop lasting relationships with internal and external parties (Employees, Managers/Owners & Customers)
  • Build rapport with the team to understand and develop each individual’s skills and strengths
  • Estimate and bid jobs
  • Comply with the standards and safety procedures
  • Manage reoccurring work schedules and reminding customer when service items are due
  • Monitor field technicians after hour work activity and safe travel monitoring
  • Ensure that all service programs, policies and processes are carried out by all field service personnel
  • Ensure that service trucks are properly maintained and in good working order
  • Assist with development of annual plans for the service department and measure performance against plans on a monthly basis
  • Automation Manager Position Requirements*
  • 5 -10 years of experience in Oil & Gas operations specific to Automation
  • Supervisory, mentoring and budget management abilities
  • Ability to accurately estimate and bid jobs
  • Strong relational skills and the ability to deal with difficult people/situations with a calm demeanor
  • Desire to be considered an integral part of the work team, to be treated as a professional, and to contribute creatively to the group's success.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to handle sensitive information and situations and communicate effectively with management, peers, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
