Performance Requirements:
Commitment to providing compassionate animal care
Client communication in morning and throughout the day
Venipuncture and running lab work on in-house equipment
Troubleshoot complications with patient and equipment during perioperative period
Anesthetic recovery, rounding recovery technician and ICU technician
Work with co-workers to ensure lunches for staff
Discuss with surgeon about post-op medications needed for patient in-hospital and to go home
Complete other paperwork regarding surgeries: surgery report, patient update, surgery summary
Complete requisitions and submission for biopsy, culture, and stone analysis
Restock and clean all areas of surgery department daily
Assist pack/prep staff as needed, including shave patients for surgical prep as needed, Sterile surgical prep as needed, cleaning instruments, packing instruments, running autoclaves and gas sterilizer, pulling instruments
tasks within the surgery department
Will participate in anesthesia rotation of weekend and weeknight on call responsibilities
Will have opportunities to learn advanced nursing skills after haven proved to perform all other anesthesia, recovery, and receiving duties to meet expectations
When able, assist in training other staff members in anesthesia/surgery (externs, interns, new hires)
