ABOUT US: Ethos Veterinary Health LLC operates a 24/7 veterinary specialty and emergency facility. Our recently expanded hospital features advanced technologies including digital radiography, computed tomography (CT), on-site magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, endoscopy, and a commercial laboratory. POSITION SUMMARY: The Cardiology Technician acts as the primary support for the Cardiologist(s), assisting in daily operations and executing treatment and diagnostic plans. A compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor is essential when interacting with clients, whether in person or via phone.

WORK SCHEDULE: Four ten-hour shifts per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct appointment intake and gather patient history.
  • Accurately document histories, treatments, and diagnostics using veterinary software (EzyVet).
  • Achieve proficiency in EzyVet and SmartFlow within 30 days.
  • Manage department voicemail, client callbacks, and documentation.
  • Assist with exams, treatments, diagnostics, and surgeries (including echocardiography and cardiology studies).
  • Prepare for the perioperative period and implement patient care plans as part of a collaborative team.
  • Review estimates with clients and provide educational support regarding procedures.
  • Dispense patient medications.
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms between patients.
  • Restock and organize the department and surgical suite for procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT licensure with a minimum of 1 year of veterinary hospital experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of veterinary medicine and basic disease processes.
  • Broad technical skills including phlebotomy, catheterization, patient restraint, radiography, in-house lab work, pharmacology, and medication administration.

REQUIRED TECHNICIAN SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and catheterization.
  • Skills in patient restraint and handling.
  • Anesthesia training.
  • Radiographic skills, including positioning and technique.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration.
  • Anticipation skills for assisting the doctor with echocardiography and cardiology diagnostics.
  • Understanding of ECG and related cardiology equipment.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds or more, and handle larger dogs. It involves repetitive use of hands, wrists, and arms, and the capacity to meet the dexterity requirements of the position. Exposure to zoonotic diseases and hazardous chemicals may occur, as outlined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
