ABOUT US: Ethos Veterinary Health LLC operates a 24/7 veterinary specialty and emergency facility. Our recently expanded hospital features advanced technologies including digital radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, endoscopy, and an on-site laboratory. Our mission is to honor the human-animal bond through exceptional patient care, client satisfaction, and a commitment to the well-being of our team. POSITION SUMMARY: The Veterinary Technician will serve as a key support to the veterinary team, assisting in daily operations and implementing treatment and diagnostic plans. A compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor is essential when interacting with clients, whether in person or via phone.
WORK SCHEDULE: Four ten-hour shifts per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct appointment intake and gather patient history.
- Accurately document histories, treatments, and diagnostics using veterinary software.
- Achieve proficiency in required software within the designated timeframe.
- Manage department communications, including client callbacks and documentation.
- Assist with examinations, treatments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures.
- Prepare for the perioperative phase and implement patient care plans collaboratively.
- Review treatment estimates with clients and provide educational support regarding procedures.
- Prepare and dispense patient medications.
- Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms between patients.
- Restock and organize the department and surgical suite for procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT licensure with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting.
- A solid understanding of veterinary medicine and basic disease processes is required.
- Broad technical skills including phlebotomy, catheterization, patient restraint, and radiography.
REQUIRED TECHNICIAN SKILLS:
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and catheterization.
- Skills in patient restraint and handling.
- Anesthesia training.
- Competence in patient radiography techniques.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration.
- Anticipation skills in assisting the veterinarian during diagnostics and procedures.
- Understanding of ECG and related cardiology equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry animals weighing up to 50 pounds or more, and handle larger breeds. The position involves repetitive use of hands and arms, and individuals must meet the dexterity requirements of the role. Exposure to zoonotic diseases and hazardous materials may occur as part of the job responsibilities.
