Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical records and release of health information regulations (e.g., Perform administrative duties including but not limited to: answering the phone, faxing and emailing confidential information, and basic computer utilization
Medical Records team fosters this trust through one of the most vital parts of our health experience: access to medical information. The medical records specialist is responsible for timely and accurate processing of medical records requests from patients, their authorized representatives, providers, and other third parties. The specialist also facilitates responses to patients’ rights requests pertaining to medical records as provided for by HIPAA and other federal and state privacy laws. In addition to responding to requests, the specialist performs a variety of administrative tasks related to health information in support of services provided by One Medical.
*6+ months prior experience executing medical records requests AND 6 months of contact center or customer service experience within the last 4 years
Deep understanding of HIPAA guidelines and associated privacy policies
A high comfort level typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems
