The Senior Compliance Specialist is responsible for:

  • Ensuring overall agency compliance with the regulations, rules, policies, and procedures that govern our properties, including LIHTC, HUD, MHP, HOME, Rural Developments, and Section 8.
  • Monitoring and auditing current and future resident files
  • Assisting with the coordination and timely filing of compliance reports
  • Reviewing HUD vouchers to ensure correct and timely transmission.
  • The Senior Compliance Specialist reports to the Compliance Manager and works with the property management team to provide superior customer service to owners, lenders, auditors, and governmental agencies.


Valid California driver's license required. This role is not remote or hybrid.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • HSD or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience working with an affordable housing development and management company as a Compliance Specialist, Property Supervisor, or Project Manager.
  • Experience reporting to and working with agencies such as HUD, TCAC, CalHFA, HOME, USRDA, and HCD.


REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma


PREFERRED EDUCATION

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Must have at least five years of experience with the affordable income qualification requirements and processes for Tax Credit, Rural Developments, HOME, HCD, Mixed Use, and Section 8.
  • Affordable housing designations (FHC, SHCM, HCCP, RHS, CPO, or COS) preferred.
  • Must be highly detail oriented.
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows and Office 2000 software: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Yardi experience is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent math skills.
