Position: Event and Administration Coordinator

Reports To: VP of Community Engagement


Job Summary

United Way of Central Alabama, Inc. is looking for an Event and Administration Coordinator to join our Marketing and Communications team. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing Marketing and Communications events, departmental budgeting, communications, and planning.


Responsibilities

Manage United Way events for which the Marketing and Communications department is responsible.

  • Negotiate contracts for catering, event space, decorations, speakers, audio/video, etc.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary for invitations, registration, and sponsors
  • Manage budgeting, reports and purchase orders for Marketing and Communications
  • Act as department liaison and coordinator for Marketing Committee calendar and events
  • Manage Marketing Committee meetings and minutes
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams on Staff Development for internal events



Qualifications

Important Skills/Traits:

  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excels in managing event logistics, planning, reporting, and budgeting
  • Very detail-oriented
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment


Education

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations or Marketing preferred


Experience

Experience in event management or coordination


Other:

Valid Alabama driver’s license

Proof of automobile insurance commensurate with State law

Normal office hours with occasional overtime and some travel throughout the state of Alabama
