Develops and drives database performance standards and initiatives using relational database management technologies -- Oracle, Postgres, SQL, DB2, Neteezza, and Snowflake. Performs and evaluates data migration and integration using Extract Transform and Load (ETL), data structures, and real-time communication. Implements and manages Snowflake Cloud data warehouse by facilitating data migration to Snowflake Cloud database platforms\u00A0 Amazon Web Services (AWS), GCP, and Azure. Provides architecture, technical design, performance solutions for the projects/programs using Unix shell, Python, Perl, C, Java, J2EE, and Embedded SQL. Onboards new projects onto Snowflake to setup, configure, administer, and provide support to enterprise Snowflake platforms.\u00A0

Primary Responsibilities:\u00A0

• Improves and maintains database performance.\u00A0\u00A0

• Performs application database administration.\u00A0\u00A0

• Implements audit, security, and risk controls to secure data in on-premise and Cloud.\u00A0

• Manages and processes large data sets distributed on multi-server, distributed systems from inception to execution.\u00A0

• Participates in database design discussions and offering consulting services to business and data modelers.\u00A0\u00A0

• Develops standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.\u00A0

• Develops methods for integrating products so they work properly together.\u00A0

• Provides advice and recommendations to organization-wide database decisions.\u00A0\u00A0

• Consults on the automation of multiple recoverability options across multiple technologies and databases for the organization.\u00A0\u00A0

• Evaluates and designs standards related to technology direction changes.\u00A0\u00A0

• Evaluates and selects database maintenance tools or designs tools/processes.\u00A0

• Consults on the maintenance of technical standards and guidelines for the effective use of databases.\u00A0\u00A0

• Architects the capacity management and performance-tuning of databases.\u00A0\u00A0

• Architects automated database testing solutions.\u00A0

• Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.\u00A0

• Develops security plans which considers data security requirements and operational procedures to ensure data integrity, physical protection, and authorized access to the network.\u00A0\u00A0

• Establishes processes that ensure the coherence of systems objects and their relationship when the system is deployed.\u00A0\u00A0

• Develops best practices and procedures for database administration within enterprise.\u00A0

Education and Experience:\u00A0

\u00A0

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Database Administration (or closely related occupation) developing and driving database performance standards and initiatives using Relational Database Management (RDBMS) technologies.\u00A0\u00A0

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Database Administration (or closely related occupation) developing and driving database performance standards and initiatives using Relational Database Management (RDBMS) technologies.\u00A0

Skills and Knowledge:\u00A0

Candidate must also possess:\u00A0

• Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) providing Snowflake onboarding for various clients using multiple roles Account Admin, Security Admin, and Sys Admin -- to manage Snowflake environments in AWS, Azure, and GCP; performing DBA activities -- cloning databases, and creating, altering and updating tables, views, file formats, and data; and creating Snow pipe for continuous data load using Snowflake UI/SnowSQL or third party tools -- Datadog, Power BI, and Tableau, or Snaplogic.\u00A0

• DE monitoring job activities, scheduling runs, and creating and leading disaster recovery setup and runbooks, failover groups, and schemas using Snowflake UI/Snowcli, Unix Shellscript, crontab or third party tools -- Datadog, Power BI, and Tableau, or Snaplogic to connect to Snowflake; and developing SQL queries, Stored Procedures, and data mining in collaboration with database developers and BI teams using Snowflake UI/SnowSQL or third party tools that can connect to Snowflake.\u00A0

• DE analyzing and documenting requirements and supporting user acceptance for functional and technical specifications using JIRA, Confluence, or ServiceNow.\u00A0

• DE configuring and integrating BI tools with Big Data and creating aggregations, calculated fields, table calculations, totals, and percentages using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).\u00A0
