Job Description

This Buyer position will be part of a team that will be responsible for part commodity piece price, inventories, investments, ordering schedule, on-time delivery of parts & materials, annual cost reductions and supplier sourcing, all of which have significant impact on L-H Battery financial performance. This position plays a crucial role in the supply chain management of the company.


Responsibilities:

• Issue RFQ’s within expected target date and expedite quote collection process.

• Collect and analyze quotes, prepare proposals, and negotiate purchase cost, payment terms and conditions.

• Ensure timely and accurate issuance of purchase orders and agreements for assigned areas

• Research, identify and propose prospective new suppliers.

• Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or concerns related to orders.

• Maintain and manage the required schedule for Ordering and On-time delivery of assigned commodities.

• Maintain control of Inventory per established trigger points.

• Work closely with various production departments within the company to forecast needs and make informed purchasing decisions.

• Lead and support continuous improvement projects or themes related to company sourcing strategies

• Ensure accurate and timely quotation processing to ensure efficient payment to suppliers.

• Continuously striving for cost improvements (competition, localization etc.)

• Responsible for building long-term supplier relationships based on trust and respect.


Education/Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or related relevant experience

• 4+ years of experience as a Direct Procurement Buyer or a similar role.


Knowledge/Skills:

• Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.

• Ability to work on multiple issues and tasks.

• Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities, both in written and verbal form.

• Ability to negotiate based on logic, manage cost, manage supplier relationships, solve problems, manage special projects, and analyze drawings/BOM’s.

• Ability to interface effectively with the Business Team members up to the Director or Executive level.

• Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and business application software.

• Good time-management and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Strong business and technical background.
