Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst will collaborate with external vendors, system owners, and Keck Medicine leadership to design, develop, and implement revenue cycle information systems. This includes, but is not limited to, PBAR, Siemens MedSeries 4, Cerner, Change Healthcare, nThrive (MedAssets) Suite, and more. You will ensure the integrity and security of data, handle system upgrades, manage software implementations, and act as the primary administrator for Soarian applications.
You will be responsible for analyzing and resolving workflow and interface issues, managing system functionality to enhance departmental productivity, and generating intermediate to advanced reports using tools such as IBM Showcase and QlikView. The role also involves balancing project management activities with direct customer service, supporting internal teams, and collaborating with vendors.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or 9+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Minimum 5 years of revenue cycle experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in an IS healthcare setting.
- 2 full life cycle implementations (from planning through go-live support).
- 3+ years of experience with Soarian Application.
- Experience with HL7, Patient Access, and Revenue Cycle systems (3+ years).
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in troubleshooting Soarian interface issues and third-party applications.
- Familiarity with PBAR, MedSeries4, Change Healthcare, nThrive, and PatientKeeper systems, particularly in scheduling, registration, patient accounting, and billing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience creating and maintaining reports using tools like IBM Showcase, QlikView, Cerner Command Language (CCL), and Siemens MedSeries4.
Project Management & Leadership:
- Proven ability to manage small to medium projects, facilitate team meetings, and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Customer Service & Problem Solving:
- Strong focus on customer service, addressing user concerns, and resolving system issues promptly.
- Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and peers.
- Strong analytical skills to design solutions and solve problems related to system workflows and revenue cycle processes.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to be on-call and handle additional duties as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and resolve system issues efficiently.
- Teamwork & Project Management: Lead projects, monitor task progress, and facilitate meetings across teams.
- Solution Design & Development: Analyze requirements and develop solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Performance Improvement: Continuously engage in performance improvement activities and identify innovative solutions for system and workflow optimization.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain technical knowledge of application builds and infrastructure and serve as a resource for others.
- Reports & Analytics: Create standard and ad hoc reports, and develop custom reports as needed.
- Training: Train staff on new systems and provide support during implementation.
- On-Call & Other Duties: Fulfill on-call responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
