SUMMARY: The Managing Director Special Assets (“MDSA”) reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer. The MDSA is responsible for overseeing all bank collection efforts including working with bank attorneys and lenders on those efforts, recommending strategies for the collections, setting up repossessions, foreclosures, and sales of assets. The MDSA will be put on notice when the Chief Credit Officer and Managing Director Credit Risk recognize an issue with a pass credit that needs attention. The MDSA is responsible for problem loan reports for all classified and criticized assets on a quarterly basis and watch assets on an annual basis. The MDSA is responsible for proper grade recommendations and impairment recommendations on these assets.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides oversight of all Bank collection efforts.
  • Recommends criticized/classified tactics.
  • Recommends strategies for the collections, setting up repossessions, foreclosures, and sales of assets.
  • Provides oversight of quarterly completion of Problem Loan Reposts for Classified Assets outlining bank strategy on credits and accountability for quarterly efforts.
  • Provides oversight of annual completion of loan reports relating to watch assets.
  • Acts as a liaison to attorneys involved in collection efforts.
  • Provides oversight of all repossession efforts.
  • Responsible for monthly report of all legal efforts.
  • Responsible for legal invoice review and recommendation for approval.
  • Responsible for monthly Classified/Criticized reposts.
  • Responsible for monthly impairment report.
  • Participates in CECL qualitative factor recommendations.
  • Acts as a liaison on appraisal ordering and reviews with RDK.
  • Performance of all job duties and responsibilities by being physically present at the Bank an average of 40 hours weekly based on business needs.
  • Other responsibilities as requested and assigned by the Chief Credit Officer.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields.
  • 10-15 years of bank experience in risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret and compile data.
  • Results driven and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with management and team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a self-starter work ethic.
