Position Overview:

Ozinga is looking for a Supply Chain Accounting Manager to join our finance team. Based at our Mokena corporate office, you will play a key role in overseeing and refining our supply chain and inventory accounting processes.

Your Role:

As the Supply Chain Accounting Manager, you will:

Oversee Inventory Accounting:

  • Lead the inventory accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
  • Manage platforms like OnBase, ABBYY, and D365 to keep records current.
  • Work closely with vendors to track costs and ensure timely payments.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of inventory records.
  • Manage inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and related financial metrics.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard inventory assets.

Financial Reporting:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and disclosures related to inventory.

Drive Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Leverage technology to streamline inventory management and accounting.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to keep Ozinga at the forefront of supply chain management.
  • Enhance system configurations for new business lines and optimize freight handling processes.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve reporting objectives.
  • Streamline existing processes to align with business goals.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and analyze financial performance.

Lead and Develop Your Team:

  • Mentor and develop a team of Inventory Cost Accountants and Inventory Specialists.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient work aligned with company goals.
  • Compile and present financial progress reports to senior leadership.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in Supply Chain and Inventory Accounting: You have a track record of managing inventory accounting with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • A Strategic Leader: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with at least 4 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in concrete, building supply, or a similar industry is preferred.
  • Technically Proficient: You’re skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Dynamics 365. Your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are top-notch.
  • A Team Player: You understand the importance of collaboration and enjoy working with cross-functional teams to achieve goals. You’re also a strong leader who can guide your team to success.
