Job Details
Currently seeking an experienced Controls Specialist to join our Building Automation Group in the Eastern WA/Tri-Cities area. This role is responsible for the successful installation of building automation systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct checkout, start-up, and testing of BMS DDC controllers for various mechanical systems.
- Operate in data centers and other critical environments.
- Develop, test, and commission BMS control programs aligned with complex Sequences of Operation.
- Start up and configure graphical user interfaces, including BMS servers and control panel touchscreen displays.
- Provide daily updates and status reports to both the Project Lead and Project Manager.
- Coordinate with and communicate professionally with customers and other contractors.
- Document project status and assist in creating accurate close-out documents.
- Write and adhere to detailed Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Management (CM) forms and processes.
- Perform BMS commissioning, including Pre-functional, Functional, and Integrated Systems Testing, both individually and with 3rd-party/customer commissioning agents.
- Conduct periodic maintenance and service of existing BMS systems in active data center environments.
- Support multiple concurrent projects in the Eastern Oregon and Washington areas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE) preferred, or Associate's degree/apprenticeship with equivalent work experience or 5+ years of experience in the automation/controls field
- Experience with BACnet and/or Modbus protocols and third-party systems integration
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD, MS Visio, and/or Bluebeam Revu is preferred.
- Local travel to Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington areas is required, with occasional overnight travel.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following BAS systems: Schneider Electric, Siemens, JCI, ALC, Trane, Delta Controls, Distech, Honeywell, or others
- Tridum Niagara experience (preferred)
