A global tech company is looking for a mid-level UX Researcher to join their team This must have a passion for understanding people and cultures and skills in guiding cross-functional teams to discover, interpret, and act upon insights and opportunities in an inspiring way. This team contributes to all phases of product development, and influence product and business strategy. This position will be hybrid and based out of the New York office.


  • Rate: $40hr-45hr


Responsibilities:


  • You will work collaboratively with design, product and engineering teams.
  • Be a strategic thinker, great storyteller and love working with peers and leaders to uncover insights that drive sophisticated solutions to tough problems.
  • Scope, plan, implement, and socialize user research across a spectrum of methodologies.
  • Build credibility and visibility company-wide for the value and impact for the greater team at large.
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research.
  • Design and deliver primary user research, aimed at illuminating user needs and defining great experiences throughout the customer journey..
  • Collect and analyze user behavior through formative and evaluative usability studies, in-depth interviews, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, diary studies, etc.
  • Synthesize research findings from data sources (primary research, market research, site analytics, A/B testing, secondary research, etc.) and clearly communicate insights and learnings, tying directly to actionable next steps and impact on product direction.
  • Advocate research insights to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.


Required Qualifications:


  • 4+ years of practical experience in an industry setting (technology industry preferred) deploying qualitative and quantitative research methods throughout the product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to launch.
  • MA/MS or PhD in Anthropology, Sociology, Applied, Cognitive, Experimental Psychology, HCDE, Human Factors, or a related field.
  • Ability to assess and work through sophisticated problems and ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, driving alignment around user needs and incorporating peers into the research process.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Global user research experience is desirable.
