Overview

The Master Project Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of a large Medicaid Management Information Claims Processing system (MMIS) implementation. This role will supplement and assist current project staff in elaborating, improving, and maintaining a comprehensive master project schedule containing multiple sub-project schedules for a software implementation that is currently in process. The candidate will assist with scheduling, monitoring progress, reporting, and ensuring that all project milestones are met on time and within budget. Expert MS Project skillset is required along with a strong foundation in principles of DCMA schedule analysis.



Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise and leadership in developing program schedules using MS Project.
  • Collaborate with project partners to incorporate schedule needs into the master schedule.
  • Conduct advanced scheduling analysis to enhance the master schedule s accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and perform basic analysis of critical paths and constraints, recommending work-arounds or alternatives.
  • Establish, collect, and report project metrics as needed.
  • Ensure schedules align to contractual requirements and assess changes to project scope and timeline.
  • Perform plan updates, setting up tasks and subtasks.
  • Escalate risks, issues, action items, and change requests timely.
  • Create and manage comprehensive project schedules including phases, activities, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with project management to ensure proper resource utilization.
  • Monitor and update schedules continuously to assess and report changes.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks and drive mitigation plans.
  • Provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
  • Conduct schedule reviews and audits.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all scheduling activities.
  • Ensure proper configuration management and storage.
  • Provide training support and mentor team members on scheduling tools and best practices.


Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years developing and maintaining complex project schedules using MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle concepts.
  • Experience scheduling large, enterprise software implementation projects (MMIS preferred).
  • Expert level in MS Project.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with senior-level management.
  • Aptitude for mentoring and training schedulers.
  • Thorough understanding of DCMA 14-point schedule Analysis Methodology.
  • Understanding of SteelRay Project Analyzer tool and Sensei PM reporting tool.
  • Experience deploying MMIS systems.
  • Bachelor s Degree.
  • Available to travel within the United States approximately 1 week per month.
  • Working remotely acceptable; business hours primarily within Central or Eastern Time zones.
