Overview
The Senior Project Scheduler is essential in guaranteeing the effective planning, coordination, and execution of a significant Medicaid Management Information Claims Processing system (MMIS). This position will support and collaborate with existing project personnel in developing, refining, and sustaining a detailed master project schedule that encompasses various sub-project timelines for an ongoing software implementation. The individual will aid in scheduling, tracking progress, reporting, and ensuring that all project milestones are achieved punctually and within budgetary constraints. They will leverage their expertise in schedule analysis to propose strategies for optimizing resource utilization and enhancing visibility into the project workflow and its timeline. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding organizational, analytical, and communication capabilities, with a proven track record in project scheduling and management. Proficiency in MS Project is mandatory, along with a solid understanding of DCMA schedule analysis principles and the ability to create schedules that adhere to widely accepted standards.

Responsibilities

  • Offer expertise and leadership in the formulation of program schedules in partnership with other schedulers utilizing MS Project.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to integrate scheduling requirements into the master schedule.
  • Provide advanced scheduling insights to enhance the master schedule's precision and reliability as a communication tool.
  • Conduct proactive scheduling analyses to deliver visibility into the overall project's progress.
  • Develop and execute basic analyses of critical paths and constraints to assess the impact of schedule modifications, recommending alternatives or workarounds as necessary.
  • Ensure that schedules are crafted and organized in alignment with project objectives, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Establish, gather, and report project metrics as required.
  • Ensure project schedules comply with contractual obligations and conduct basic analyses to evaluate any alterations to project scope and timelines.
  • Perform plan updates, organizing tasks and subtasks to guarantee satisfactory fulfillment of project contract requirements.
  • Assist in promptly escalating risks, issues, action items, and change requests to the appropriate leadership.
  • Create and oversee comprehensive project schedules that encompass all necessary phases, activities, and milestones in the correct sequence with accurate durations and dependencies using MS Project.
  • Coordinate with project management to ensure optimal resource assignment and utilization.
  • Continuously monitor and update schedules to assess and report necessary adjustments in response to shifts in scope, resource availability, or constraints.
  • Identify potential scheduling risks and drive the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze the effects of delays and changes on the overall project timeline.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, emphasizing issues or deviations from the established plan.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, team leads, and external stakeholders regarding project timelines.
  • Conduct schedule reviews and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all scheduling activities, changes, and decisions.
  • Ensure proper configuration management, storage, and accessibility are upheld.
  • Provide training support and mentorship to team members on scheduling tools and best practices.
