The Regional Sales Manager is a key role within Global Parts Distributors, LLC (gpd) and is accountable for consistently increasing revenue and profitability through the generation of new business and further development of existing business. The Regional Sales Manager will follow the gpd sales process, which includes but not limited to prospecting by cold calling, lead generation follow-up and referrals from trade shows. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for relationships with their region, with both new and existing accounts. This position will also be responsible for the hiring, training and discharging of commission-based sales personnel to help the area manager achieve the goals assigned.
Responsibilities: (included but not limited too)
- Responsible for increasing profitable revenue in sales area.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships through all phases of the sales life cycle, and all levels of the customers business. Address issues and recommend solutions promptly with customers.
- With guidance of Sales and Marketing Director and/or President, motivate, liaise, mentor, train and discipline commission-based salespeople employed within your region.
- Provide reports by customer through CRM software. This will include detailed information on current accounts, targets, salespeople, competitor actions with your region.
- Empowered to make decisions within region that will increase sales, decisions that require expenditure will need approval with a plan on why sales will increase.
- Working with accounts receivable, help with collections and monitoring of collections on accounts. If collections are outside of gpd’s normal trading terms, Regional Sales Manager will bring this to the attention of Senior Management and reasons for concerns if any. (e.g.: business is suffering a slowdown in sales etc.) If Regional Sales Manager is aware of customer being sold, they are to immediately inform AP team and senior management.
- Conduct one on one and group sales presentations, counterman training, sales representation training, and consumer visits when required.
- Establish quarterly plan, executed monthly, in conjunction with commission-based salespeople, for customer visits, items to promote and possible new business. Regional Sales Manager will then work his customer sales management and organize a call plan with possible visits with their sales team.
- Annually generate regional sales budget to include current and new prospects and sales expectations for the year ahead.
- Recommend changes and give feedback to protocols, programs or products that will enhance gpd’s business and grow customers’ positive experience.
- Act in accordance with what is expected of a gpd employee, both in the office and traveling, visiting customers, and attending tradeshows.
- Attend sales meetings, trade shows, customer functions, etc.
- Provide sales reporting through the CRM Database.
- Make regular sales calls in person to their customers, making the most from the travel week.
- Time management skills.
- Close sales prospects into customers.
- Work in close contact with commissions-based salespeople in your sales region.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of sales experience with proven track record of meeting sales goals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills; Managerial role experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and sales management software/tools.
- Must be able to travel (Approx. 50% Travel).
- Automotive industry sales experience preferred but not required.
