Position Title: Resource Coordinator

8 month contract, potential to hire

Full Time, in office

The Electric Operations Resource Coordinator plays a pivotal role in coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating the efficient delivery of Electric Distribution work to both internal and external field crews across Rhode Island. Working closely with Supervisors assigned to specific line platforms or substations, this role ensures seamless execution of projects while adhering to timelines and optimizing available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage construction work and resource assignments to meet the client's work plan, considering factors such as workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization, and schedule efficiency.
  • Schedule and coordinate short and long-term Opex and Capital construction projects for both internal teams and external contractor crews, ensuring timely completion to meet customer and project deadlines.
  • Manage internal systems and processes to provide comprehensive project folders to external contractors, including material ordering, providing job cards and drawings, and collecting as-builts upon completion.
  • Monitor work backlog to ensure timely project completion, identifying and addressing scheduling risks due to resource constraints, field conditions, or material/equipment issues.
  • Optimize short and long-term resource needs by managing and balancing external and internal resources effectively.
  • Monitor project team activities to ensure appropriate use of materials, tools, and adherence to schedules, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Support divisional reliability activities by scheduling and progressing all relevant activities efficiently.
  • Prioritize and bundle contingency and maintenance work to maximize fleet utilization and operational efficiencies.
  • Facilitate construction meetings with stakeholders to optimize scheduling and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, providing guidance and support to third parties, ensuring everyone is informed of construction schedule changes and decisions.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders to explain and support the implementation of company policies and processes effectively.
  • Independently manage project teams and projects, utilizing persuasion skills to influence others and ensure acceptance of proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree from a technical school preferred.
  • 4-6+ years of related experience, preferably in the utility industry.
  • Proficiency in scheduling, operations, project, and program management.
  • Familiarity with Rhode Island's policies and practices, with the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability for delivering performance excellence.
  • Proficient computer skills, including utility work management systems, data systems, and MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations throughout Rhode Island with a valid driver's license.
