Payroll Specialist

Hiring for a Payroll Specialist In this role you will maintain employee payroll records and files, process timely and accurate payroll, prepare and analyze various reconciliations, and perform general bookkeeping related to payroll. Responsibilities:
- Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions.
- Compute wages, deductions, adjustments, and enter data into payroll software system, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
- Compile employee time and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
- Validate new hire data properly uploaded from HRIS system into the payroll system.
- Record exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain payroll records.
- Process funding for 401(k), HSA, and Flex plans.
- Record payroll journal entries to the general ledger.
- Process invoices for all benefit-related fund transfers and payments in ERP.
- Process forms benefits documentation (pension plans, unemployment, medical insurance).
- Complete all state-level applications for withholding and unemployment accounts
- Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
- Prepare year-end W2 and ACA form reconciliations.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required.
- Paylocity and/or ADP experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
