POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director, Surgical Services is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of Surgical Services, and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of Surgical Services activities. Such responsibilities encompass the internal functioning of Surgical Services, which facilitates the functioning of Surgical Services in the
overall organization. The Assistant Director, Surgical Services supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.

PROVISION OF SERVICES

Demonstrates leadership in the provision of departmental services through a collaborative process designed to integrate services/functions throughout NWTHS. Participates in and supports a process to measure, assess, and improve performance of management, clinical, and/or support services in conjunction with Surgical Services and all regulatory agencies. Assists in development of a departmentspecific fiscal plan including but not limited to a departmental budget, compliance monitoring of budgeted parameters and appropriate corrective action while providing organization and direction for resource allocation according to the scope of services.

Exhibits effective leadership skills in planning, organizing, and coordinating departmental functions in relation to the UHS and the NWTHS mission, vision, strategic goals, and values and in accordance with JCAHO's leadership standards and Texas Department of Health licensure requirements.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master Degree in Nursing preferred 5 Years experience as a RN in Surgical Services area 3 years leadership experience
