What will be your daily
pursuit?The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer performs analysis, design, development, and maintenance of BI solutions across multiple business lines and technical platforms. This role is essential in fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization by translating complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in Azure, SQL and Power BI, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions.
What is the compensation for this role?
The salary range for this role is $85,000/year to $100,000/year based on experience and skill set. Pursuit offers a full suite of benefits, including flexible time off, an 401k contribution matching plan, and discounts at our hotels, restaurants, and attractions.
What will you do in this job?
Design, develop, test and deploy end-to-end BI solutions – data pipelines, dashboards, reports and datasets Partner with stakeholders to understand business processes, define requirements, design solutions and collaborate in data validation, ensuring the final solution meets or exceeds all business needs Work closely with Accounting and Finance to achieve better data integration and reporting within their systems Provide ongoing timely support for existing BI solutions and processes Author and maintain complex queries, focusing on data accuracy, relevancy and performance Create and enhance technical documentation for all BI solutions Participate in data warehouse design Provide training to end users on tools and analytics
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
BS or BA in Computer Science (or similar) or 4 years of relevant work experience Knowledge of Accounting and Finance processes and concepts Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database & Azure Data Lake Experience with data extraction via APIs Advanced Power BI, DAX and SQL Server Reporting Services development experience Knowledge of data integration with ERP systems – Point of Sale (POS) preferred Proficiency in SQL programming (queries, views, stored procedures, functions) and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) Familiar with platforms like Databricks and Data Lakes Ability to develop presentation-ready, engaging and effective data visualizations Create and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, user guides, and troubleshooting information PREFERRED SKILLS: Dynamics 365, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Delta Lake, Understanding of travel/hospitality industryCRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
