Johnson Service Group, a nationally recognized staffing firm, is targeting a High Voltage Field Service Engineer for our industrial power generation clients, local to the Atlanta, Boston, Portland and/or Las Vegas, and surrounding areas. The incumbent would be responsible for planning, executing and leading technical field assignments including installations, modifications, testing and commissioning of high voltage equipment. 

REMOTE - HIGH TRAVEL - DIRECT HIRE - FULL BENEFITS - 

Responsibilities:
  • Execute and supervise the installations of high voltage substation equipment, performing field operations, troubleshoot and repair equipment while performing preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Perform field tests, SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, contact resistance and power factors while documenting said tests and conducting inspections to determine necessary repairs, additional resources, and equipment recommendations.
  • Supervise additional contractors and electricians, while assisting in planning and coordinating team efforts.
  • Compile and evaluate data, maintaining detailed records and logs while developing recommendations and preparing written reports.
  • Travel estimated at 80%.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Required.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in erection, testing, installation, and commissioning of high voltage equipment.
  • Proven experience serving in leadership roles within power utilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, along with knowledge of testing equipment.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
