Job Summary
  • Plays a critical role in the overall success of the manufacturing team by applying skills and knowledge to the operational manufacturing environment. Through technical development of products and process initiatives, by successfully completing objectives.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Document manufacturing specifications and processes for both new and existing product lines.
  • Support the continued development of ERP (Epicor) system integration into SA’s manufacturing environment.
  • Assess and contribute to manufacturing CapEx projects. To include development of SOW, ROI, and presentation of capital projects to management. Bring approved projects to fruition.
  • Using Lean principles best practices design workflow and improve manufacturing throughput.
  • Aid in the development, maintenance, and sustainment of the SA’s 3D CAD product design library through:
  • 3D Modeling
  • 2D Drawing and Drafting
  • Database organization and file management
  • ECR/ECN revision process
  • Have a good understanding of GD&T
Contribute to the quality engineering teams testing and development of procedures for new and existing criterion. 

Assist in the creation of new product WIs and the hand off from design to production.  

Support DFM efforts in both new and existing products through equipment and tooling selection/implementation. 

Establishing standards and processes in how products and materials are digitized and catalogued.
Collaborate with operations management and Plant Employees to better understand the capabilities and needs for Manufacturing. 

Participate in industry CE actively.

Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design

Education/Experience
BS Degree engineering plus 4-6yrs experience.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of 3D Modeling and Drafting in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Manual Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have capabilities with basic measuring tools like Tape Measure and Caliper as well as hand tools such as wrenches, ratchets, and drills.

Certificates and Licenses
No certifications needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
The noise level is usually quiet to moderate in an office environment. All safety regulations and requirements must be followed when working or being present in the manufacturing facility. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Occasional overtime may be necessary.
