Venturi, LLC., A Chenega Company, has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Systems Engineer who will lead extensive engineering/scientific support on systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and/or processes for complex developmental and operational weapon system programs. The Advanced Systems Engineer will lead the implementation of system engineering “V” processes across a program acquisition life cycle and be capable of providing daily supervision and direction to support teams.
Responsibilities
Apply knowledge of missile defense functionality and concept of operations, including interceptors, ground systems, sensors, command, control, battle management, and communications. Develop acquisition regulations and best practices for accomplishing systems engineering within the framework, including concept definition, requirements development requirements verification, and test planning. Engage with elements for test requirements support, reviewing, and commenting on achievable capabilities and assisting in developing Integrated Master Assessment Plans. Provide inputs and updates to the integrated budgetary process across all technical projects, reviewing implementation and timing of the projects across the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) timeline, and evaluating intelligence community inputs for the threats posed to the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) to assist in the performance of risk assessments. Coordinate capability improvements to BMDS. Plan trade studies and analyses to quantify potential performance improvements and concept implementation. Develop technical requirements packages for the acquisition of new capabilities and prototypes for the BMDS. Develop mitigation plans for concerns, risks, and issues to ensure a quality-driven timely deployment of BMDS capability. Support the identification and resolution of technical issues associated with the worldwide deployment of BMD capabilities. May be required to provide daily supervision and employee recruiting, development, and retention in compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws. May be responsible for management of program cost, schedule, and performance. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Master’s degree in a STEM field 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects Understand System Of Systems concepts Ability to work in a dynamic environment Self-starter Secret clearanceDesired:
Active TS/SCI clearance Proficient in DoD Acquisition MDA experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems. In-depth practical and theoretical technical/engineering knowledge. Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission. Familiarity with DoD and MDA processes and procedures. Ability to work in a high-paced environment while coordinating with multiple organizations and leadership. Proficient with Microsoft software applications. Ability to execute and complete tasks with no supervision. Ability to travel 20-25% to CONUS and OCONUS locations. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.How you’ll grow
