STATEMENT OF THE JOB 
Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Director of Psychiatry will serve as a leader of the team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners working across CCNS’ Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and Behavioral Health (BH) programs. This individual will provide day-to-day management and clinical oversight support to our agency’s team of psychiatric prescribers. Additionally, the Director of Psychiatry will have responsibility for direct patient care, with a specific focus on serving individuals with complex and co-occurring needs, as well as the provision of consultation to both medical and non-medical treatment providers, and within other areas of the Agency. 
• Provide oversight and clinical guidance to psychiatric prescribers and help to provide strategic direction in operations
• Work closely with the CCNS Medical Director to provide day-to-day support and supervision to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners by establishing performance expectations, overseeing service delivery, evaluating team and individual results, and providing feedback and coaching
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to fellow Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, including supporting orientation and in-service sessions to support the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner team to grow their skillsets
• Collaborate closely with other integrated care professionals and providers to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Provide direct patient care to individuals of all ages living with psychiatric conditions, addiction issues, and other complex, co-occurring health-related needs
• Support the growth of CCNS’ psychiatric services, including but not limited to Medication Assisted Treatment, by providing support and education to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners 
• Participate as an active member of CCNS’ CCBHC leadership team, supporting continuous process improvement of systems and programs by determining needs and improvements and evaluating outcomes for programs and services
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders in support of CCNS’ clients served

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent
• New York State Nurse Practitioner License and Current Registration as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Current CPR (BLS), First Aid
• Apply for and maintain valid NPI number
• Must receive (Medication Administration Training) & become MAT certified within first 6 months of employment
• Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance Registration
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry required
• Valid New York State DEA number required including having completed all required trainings to deliver Medication Assisted Treatment 
• At least five years of experience 
• Excellent clinical skills, ability to perform evaluations, diagnose and treat mental illnesses, and have excellent knowledge of psychopharmacology required.
• Must have up to date knowledge of psychotropic medications, as well as evidenced based/best practices treatment modalities for children, adolescents and adults with mental health and chemical dependence issues.
• Must have knowledge and familiarity of OMH, OASAS, SAMHSA CCBHC, and other pertinent regulations, and the ability to maintain a good working relationship with regulatory staff.
• Ability to work with individuals across the lifespan, including children and adolescents, as well as older adults.
• Time management, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to evaluate and intervene in crisis situations.
• Flexibility to cover other work sites & available for crisis consultation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must having working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary staff.
• Able to engage with children/adolescents, families and/or adults personally to assist their adjustment to the therapeutic experience.
• Tact and flexibility in order to motivate and support staff.
• Bilingual Spanish/English speaking preferred with the ability to conduct assessments and medication management sessions.
