The basics of this position:

This position is responsible for enhancing STLCC’s visibility among external community constituents and connects these groups with our faculty/staff, programs, and resources. Performs duties necessary to direct the overall functioning of the Harrison Education Center. Serves as liaison between Center and Forest Park Campus: administers and oversees grants and partnerships for the Center and Forest Park campus. Supports business partnership opportunities and fundraising for the Center. Develops with Forest Park Deans and Department Chairs new and current program offerings. Performs normal supervisory functions.

What you'll do:

  • Partners with Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to create a cohesive outreach and support system for students from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds that builds strong community connections and attracts the best and brightest minds.
  • Provides oversight for the Center and off-site locations, including continuing education and academic coursework.
  • Identifies and meets with potential constituents and contacts in government, business, industry, academia, and/ or the service community. Seeks out diverse partners for collaborative funding opportunities.
  • Represents the College at various community and/ or business meetings; promote existing and new programs and/or policies.
  • Prepares and compiles components of each grant/ proposal submission. Monitors and coordinates the administration of post-award grants/ proposals to ensure that budgeting and administrative policies, procedures, and agency requirements are being followed;
    manages administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the awarded granting period.
  • Initiates long-term planning to identify demographic and technological trends and changes that will impact the community’s development. Forecasts and plans for future growth and development of the Center.
  • Work in partnership to plan with Forest Park Deans, Department Chairs, and Discipline Area Program Coordinators the credit courses offered at the Center. Track enrollments each semester; interacts with department chairs regarding class cancellations; notify students of canceled classes and assist in adjusting their schedules.
  • Seek and plans noncredit offerings at the Center in conjunction with Workforce Solutions.
  • Provides budgetary oversight for Center needs.
  • Plans, organizes, evaluates, and manages the day-to-day operations and activities of the HEC.
  • Collaborates with the College’s Marketing and Communications Department to devise and implement a marketing plan and advertising campaign to increase public awareness and enhance the image and funding sources.
  • Establishes relationships and assumes the role of liaison with community leaders, community and business organizations, and public agencies to determine the Center’s needs and stimulate interest in program offerings.
  • Establishes and enforces operational policies and procedures.
  • Collects, develops, and organizes information for dissemination to the community and business groups through various media, including radio, television, newspaper, magazines, social media platforms, podcasts, email, and Web pages.
  • Coordinates and participates in collecting and analyzing data related to community needs and interests and center student success.
  • Coordinates with other offices/divisions to schedule classes and workshops and provide appropriate support services to students participating in programs at the Center.
  • Oversees the investigation and resolution of problems and complaints about the Center.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

• Master’s degree and five or more years of relevant full-time experience.
• Strong knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.
• Knowledge of the city of St. Louis area population and community organizations.
