JOB SUMMARY
:

Intern will learn how to utilize their engineering education in assisting the Show Team. The role will aid the intern in becoming a more well-rounded engineer enhancing both their technical and soft skills.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Analysis of mechanical and mechatronic systems. Attends meetings and design reviews in support of global projects Assists in writing technical requests for proposals and evaluating technical proposals. Checks stress calculations and identifies potential hazards. Reviews mechanical drawings and collects information from previous projects to benefit current project needs. Retrieves feedback from Technical Services and Operations partners to utilize for new attraction development. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:  

In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above. Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program. Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.  An official transcript may be required upon request. Preferred majors include: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Technical Theatre, Entertainment Technology. Preferred coursework completed: Statistics, Dynamics.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

Strong technical communication and presentation skills required. Completed statics and dynamics coursework required. SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred. Ability to read technical drawings preferred. Previous engineering internship, any industry preferred. Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.  Exceptional attention to detail. Superior written & verbal communication skills. Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines. Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams. Consistent attendance.

This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices. Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2025. Universal Orlando does not provide housing.
