The American Heart Association has an opportunity for a Development Director in Raleigh/Durham, NC

The Director will generate revenue for our Go Red For Women fundraising campaign. This campaign includes our signature Go Red For Women event.

The director will coordinate, plan and implement activities and resources necessary to achieve fundraising goals and campaign objectives for the Raleigh-Durham market

We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

Achieving assigned revenue goals by developing and maintaining relationships with corporate and community partners.

Driving new business development by soliciting and maintaining high-level corporate and patron sponsors by developing year-round business and cultivation plans.

Recruiting, orienting, and managing C-suite volunteer leadership based on nationally established methodologies.

Maintaining an ongoing pipeline of potential sponsors, donors, and volunteer leadership.

Instrumental in building volunteer leadership committees.

Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating assigned fundraising initiatives according to standard methodologies and campaign timeline.

Confirming detailed, timely and accurate data entry of relevant information.

Collaborating with other staff and volunteers as needed to promote and support local initiatives, optimize event market strategy, and drive community impact.

In this role, you will report to the VP of Development and will work alongside other directors to meet the overall revenue goal for the Raleigh-Durham market. Daily travel within the market is required.

Qualifications

3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience

Ability to do daily local travel up to 50%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis

Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving

Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

Here are some of the preferred experience skills we are seeking:

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred

Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level

Knowledge of corporate and community networks
