SENIOR SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER

Territory: Either Southern territory (TX, LA, AL) or Northeast territory

Location: Home based office, preference for candidate to be based in the geographic territory

Travel: Estimated 75%
 

THE SENIOR SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER:

  • Manages an existing sustained customer base with a minimum sustained territory size of $30 million up to $45 million. Territory will include strategic and transactional accounts.
  • Maintains and grows established sales territory focus in the midwestern United States.
  • Territory includes several accounts with customer inventory programs.  The accounts manager will work with the customers to maintain item forecasts and ensure inventory and replenishment to support customer forecast.
  • Sales focus is heavy in the Transportation, Industrial and Aerospace sector but will serve customers in other markets such as Energy/ Oil & Gas.
  • Generates a minimum of 10% new profitable sales each fiscal year with selective business development on the Eastern and Western parts of the United States.
  • Spends up to 25% of time focusing on growth through new & existing customers via new and existing products.
  • Manages time and territory in conjunction with manager on a monthly basis.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
     

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Four-year college degree in Marketing or related discipline preferred.  High School Diploma required.
  • 10+ years of sales/relationship management experience.
  • Steel industry experience preferred
  • Project Management – experience with effectively managing projects or teams. Forecast and plans resource requirements for projects.
  • Functional Expertise – experience interpreting internal / external business issues with the ability to recommend best practices. 
  • Financial Management – experience monitoring and controlling cost for own work and may need to manage costs/budgets for large projects/areas.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient knowledge of markets and pricing practices/policies.
  • Ability to be flexible and organized when faced with frequently changing priorities.
  • Strong goal and results orientation; high energy, high impact.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills. Strong quantitative and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts and arrive at good business decisions.
