ABOUT A STAFF ACCOUNTANT:“Typical day” “What you’re getting into”
Staff Accountants maintain adequate accounting and control for various accounting reports and functions, such as preparing monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and adjustments. By partnering with other Bernick’s Team Members, Staff Accountants exhibit a high degree of confidentiality and possess the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization. Staff Accountants assist with budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financials on a monthly basis. It is their responsibility to report any variances to the budget. They also assist Accounting Managers with financial and tax audits, as well as,various accounting projects.Strong candidates have knowledge in/are able to:
Depreciation and Amortization (adding, tracking, writing-off, budgeting) Inventory: Recap, analyze variances, visit locations, inventory audit Monthly sales tax reporting and other state required filings Monthly tie-out of GL Accounts Possess analytical, communication, and innovative thinking skills Accounting principles, auditing, budgeting, bookkeeping, and fiscal record keeping Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide adviceYOU MIGHT BE A GREAT MATCH IF YOU HAVE:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) 2 years of experience inAccounting and/or related field Proficiency in Microsoft's suite of products, as well as, Accounting software programs A valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Bernick’s standardHOURS: Full-time (40-45 hours per week)
Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM No weekends or holidays required No vacations during the first 4 business days of every month One Saturday per year for annual inventory countBENEFITS:
